Nor has he spent a career trying to repeat the past. Brighton's only purpose-built jazz venue, 159 Edward Street, BN2 0JB On Wednesday, Friday and some Saturdays The Verdict becomes a live jazz venue, with a capacity of 60 in the basement clubroom. On gig nights The Verdict opens at 7 pm, and any remaining unreserved seats are sold on a first come, first served basis. The music (usually two one-hour sets) runs from about 8.30 till late. Voted best UK jazz club by the Guardian & Observer.
