Brighton’s only purpose-built jazz venue, 159 Edward Street, BN2 0JB

On Wednesday, Friday and some Saturdays The Verdict becomes a live jazz venue, with a capacity of 60 in the basement clubroom. On gig nights The Verdict opens at 7 pm, and any remaining unreserved seats are sold on a first come, first served basis. The music (usually two one-hour sets) runs from about 8.30 till late.

Voted best UK jazz club by the Guardian & Observer.

ollowing the successful launch of the Verdict Jazz Club’s Lockdown Sessions in April with weekly live concerts streamed from the Brighton club’s stage, a new series of dates has been announced prior to the club reopening and welcoming back live audiences in July.

Presented by drummer and video producer Tristan Banks the live streams have attracted a worldwide audience to the city’s dedicated jazz club, which was nominated for Jazz Venue of the Year 2020 in both the Jazz FM and Parliamentary jazz Awards.
