Soul Survivors is a new young band from Amsterdam with a free spirit and a wild heart. The group has immersed themselves in soul, rhythm & blues by mastering all the old soul songs they love. With a setlist full of soul gems, they quickly built up a reputation in the Amsterdam live circuit. The band then used this musical suitcase to write powerful songs of their own. Soul Survivors gave dazzling performances in many Dutch clubs and festivals last season, including Jazz in Duketown, Zoetermeer Blues, Breda Jazz, Jazz by the Sea Domburg and Keifestival Lichtenvoorde. After the release of a 7” 45 rpm vinyl in 2023, the debut album The Road Ahead is now launched with ten soul stompers. The compositions are rooted in the classics from the 60s and 70s by Motown and Stax, but also have a modern soul vibe. The band alternates steamy soul songs with blues and rock bangers, think of how the Blues Brothers did it.
