Identity
Hi! I’m Esther Weekes. I’m both a flamenco dancer and a blues singer and my passion for the two has led to the conception of my first flamenco fusion album, “Lucky Eye”, which I co-wrote and produced together with flamenco guitarist, Tino van der Sman.
Without sacrificing our love of flamenco, the album seeks to capture the mystery of Flamenco, channel it through that ever changing phenomenon we know as Jazz, whilst bringing my blues and soul background to the fore.
Though London born and bred, I was seduced into the world of flamenco 19 years ago and I’ve been living in Seville ever since, singing and dancing in festivals and theatres all over Spain and Europe.
