About

Welcome to the Astor Community Theatre in Deal on the East Kent coast, close to Canterbury, Dover and Sandwich. The Astor is now a unique multi purpose arts centre offering an eclectic mix of music, theatre, literary events, art exhibitions, films and a range of classes and clubs for all ages and tastes. Our aim is to offer ‘Something for Everyone!’

Auditorium

The new configuration of the Astor Community Theatre provides:

150 seating in rows, 120 cabaret style or 370 standing

Auditorium floor dimensions: 31’7″ x 34’9″

Stage size: 30′ x 18’8″

We can also provide split seated and standing arrangements.

Balcony Studio

Versatile suitable for small group meetings, workshops, art exhibitions and performance events.

Cabaret style seating 50, row seating 65, standing 70

Room dimensions: 29′ x 19’6″

Greig Studio

Smaller versatile space with small kitchen and raised stage area suitable for small group meetings, workshops, art exhibitions and performance events.

Seating 30

Main floor dimensions: 27′ x 15′

Stage size: 15′ x 5’6″

Café Bar

Fully licensed Café Bar serving a wide range of spirits, wine, lagers and locally brewed beers.

The bar is open each evening for events and activities and can be booked for private functions, business networking meetings, drinks receptions and catered events.

Private functions and corporate events

The Astor Community Theatre welcomes enquiries from individuals and organisations interested in hiring any of our studio spaces. This may include birthday parties, wedding receptions, anniversaries, trade shows or conferences. We can provide a full catering service and are happy to work with you in planning your event. Please ring the Theatre Box Office on 01304 370220 or email james@theastor.co.uk to discuss your requirements and hire charges.
