As the lead vocalist of the band Toranja, he gained prominence with the 2003 debut album “Esquissos,” which sold over 60,000 copies and featured the award-winning track “Carta.” After the band’s hiatus in 2006, he embarked on a solo career, recording his first solo album, “O Jardim,” in Canada with producer Howard Bilerman.
Since then, Bettencourt’s subsequent albums, including his latest “Rumo ao Eclipse (2020)”, showcase his evolution as an artist.
