The Lucy Joy Quartet is the latest of a long line of innovative modern jazz groups to emerge out of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Led by vocalist and composer Lucy Joy, the group performs her original songs which fuse rolling, swaggering modal jazz and sensual, rich female vocal songwriting as well as rock and blues, drum and bass and 90s Northern indie.

Influenced by Betty Carter, Cecile McLorin Salvant, and Wayne Shorter, but also by Radiohead, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, and Led Zeppelin, the Lucy Joy Quartet is eclectic and diverse in its approach, yet always energetic, dynamic, and exciting. They are Lucy Joy, Thomas Sladden, Louis Gascoyne and Luke Brueck Seeley.
