Birmingham Jazz Presents: Mark Cherrie @ Birmingham Jazz
click to share
A jazz quartet unlike any other: this one is led by Mark Cherrie; a steel pannist. With over 30 years of playing experience, as well as a separate career writing music for TV & film spanning some 20 years, Mark brings something unique to the jazz world. Mark’s family hailed from Trinidad and his father, Ralph was a well-known pan player in the 50s and 60s. Indeed, he was one of the leading lights in establishing the Notting Hill Carnival. Naturally young Mark followed the family tradition. They will be performing tracks from their new recording Sundcloud.
