Folk-Rising is an intimate artist discovery evening. The show is hosted by Ormella, whose passion for independent artists & authentic music like her own has seen her sell out every single Folk Rising show.
Musical guests are invited to sing a small number of songs to give prospective listeners a flavour for their work & each act is always encouraged to talk openly about their story & process. Previous guests include Eve Christina, Isaac Stuart, Lily Lyon’s, Merrick Winter, Matthew Herd, Chester Caine, The Woodgies, Josephine Illingworth & many more.

Our dream was to create a place where we could share music that we loved – somewhere with a laid back, intimate and friendly atmosphere. Becoming friends in our school days, the seed for our idea was planted many years ago. After lots of hard work, many ups and downs, and learning more than we ever could have imagined along the way(!), our dream became a reality when Green Note opened its doors in the Summer of 2005.
