Led by electric harpist-composer Maria-Christina Harper, with saxophonist Josephine Davies and drummer Evan Jenkins (Neil Cowley Trio), the evocative, boundary-pushing Harper Trio explore soundscapes ranging from meditative calm to a vibrant, rhythmic intensity. They have earned significant acclaim, with Mojo praising their “lasting spiritual heft” and Jazzwise noting Harper’s expansion of the instrument “into the language of modern jazz.” Their new album, Dialogue of Thoughts , highlights the trio’s inventive interplay, drawing on ancient Greek mantras, shimmering textures and dynamic rhythmic ideas.
