Drawing heavily on the hard-bop era of jazz, he has developed a unique style on the instrument and in his compositions that is both virtuosic and tasteful. The night will feature a very special guest, New York-born saxophonist Jon Gordon . Jon emerged as a major jazz voice after winning the 1996 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone Competition and has since performed with legends like Phil Woods, Maria Schneider, Aretha Franklin, and Clark Terry. Gordon has appeared at major festivals and venues worldwide, released critically acclaimed albums-including “Along The Way”, “Within Worlds”, and “Stranger Than Fiction”-and is a highly-respected figure in contemporary jazz.
