BRIGHTON JAZZ FESTIVAL


 

After the sell-out success in 2022, Brighton Jazz Festival 2023 will return to Brighton’s iconic Palace Pier with four days (26th – 29th September 2024) of world class music featuring an amazing array of international jazz artists from the deep tradition to the cutting edge.

 

Brighton Jazz Festival has assembled an incredible line-up featuring the star of:

 

PostModern Jukebox, US trumpeter and vocalist BENNY BENACK III alongside some of the most exciting acts on the UK jazz scene.

 

All concerts take place in Horatio’s Bar at the end of the pier, with sweeping views across the coast.

 

The line-up includes four ticketed double-headliner evening events starting at 8pm plus exclusive workshops with their stars and a host of daytime events from the vibrant Brighton jazz community.

Here are some of the artists who will perform live on one of the days:

 

Rachael Cohen + Sean Payne

 

Rachael Cohen, a London-based alto saxophonist and composer, is one of the brightest emerging stars of her generation. Her skills as a composer and improviser have gained her a great deal of attention in the UK and beyond.

 

 

Knats + Tjoe & NTBM

 

NTBM (Not-To-Be-Missed) is an original international jazz collective led by Tjoe Man Cheung, a guitarist and composer from Hong Kong. The group collaborates with emerging musicians in London and aims to compose original jazz music while touring the UK and the world.

 

 

Claire Martin + Tim Garland & Jason Rebello

 

Multi-award-winning vocalist Claire Martin OBE has been a ‘tour de force’ on the UK jazz scene for over 30 years in her various guises as band leader, festival curator, broadcaster and educator. As a Linn recording artist with 25 albums to her credit, Claire has to worldwide critical acclaim, established herself as a tour de force on the UK jazz scene, gaining many awards, including winning the British Jazz Awards eight times during her career. In 2018, she was the proud recipient of the BASCA Gold Badge Award for her contribution to jazz.
