Pianist/composer Robert Mitchell (True Think, Alicia Olatuja) presents a poetic response to the Windrush scandal – himself a child of the Generation – with cellist Shirley Smart (Avishai Cohen, Yasmin Levy). Kim Macari weaves spoken word with improvised solo trumpet in evocative soundworlds, exploring her roots as a Scottish woman. Songbook is the exquisite playing and writing partnership between two-time Grammy award-winning jazz pianist/composer/arranger Alan Broadbent (Diana Krall, Woody Herman, Natalie Cole) and award-winning vocalist/lyricist Georgia Mancio (Liane Carroll, Ian Shaw, ReVoice! Festival). Their eponymous album, described as “pure perfection” by leading global jazz blog JazzWax, was launched at Ronnie Scott’s in 2017 with subsequent engagements across Europe and the US including Dizzy’s and Kitano (NYC) and Rochester, London and Krakow International Jazz Festivals.
