Veneto Jazz is a leading association in Italy, founded in 1988, producing and organising prestigious international music events. Its main activities are: organisation of jazz and contemporary music events, art exhibitions, conferences and workshops. Supported by the local government and te Ministry of Culture, it organises events which take place in the most beautiful cities of the Veneto region live Venezia, Padova, Verona; locations such as St. Mark’s square, Arena di Verona, Fenice Theatre. From 1991 it organises the summer jazz workshop in collaboration with the New School of Jazz and Contemporary Music of New York, involving young musicians from all over the world.
Giuseppe Mormile is the founder of Veneto Jazz, and the Artistic Director of Venice Jazz Festival, one of the most important Festivals on the international scene, which takes place in the heart of the city of Venice. Established in 2008, every year the Festival host world-renowned artists with great success in terms of audience.
Veneto Jazz and Venezia Jazz Festival are currently cooperating at the European and international level with different institutions. The programme includes international co-productions which give visibility and great opportunities to young talents challenging for their professional carrear.
As part of the Venezia Jazz Festival, Veneto Jazz, and the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music of New York, co-produce an 8 days workshop in Chioggia, near Venezia. The summer jazz workshop its already been at its 24th edition and it is one of the most prestigeous workshops in Europe, a real training school that has built a new generation of professional musicians.
