Room 2 is one of a couple of new nightclubs to open in Glasgow in 2019. Launching on the first weekend of March, the club on Nelson Mandela Place is the latest venture from the group behind La Cheetah Club on nearby Queen Street.
The large premises has big plans, with all the gear in place to put the emphasis on stage production and live music events. Their sound system and lighting set-up means business, with a real dance and house music focus clear to see in their first month of events.
They’ve got a lot in the diary for the month of March, kicking off with a two-night launch event on Friday and Saturday with special guests JD Twitch and Moodymann headlining respectively, alongside sets from Glasgow locals Sofay, Ribeka, The Burrell Connection and La Cheetah residents Wardy and Dom D’Sylva.
And the special guests don’t stop after launch weekend, with the likes of Loefah and Levon Vincent also lined up to play, as well as nights from VAJ.Power and Magic City, a 20th anniversary show for Millian Dollar Disco and a record label night from Glasgow techno purveyors Animal Farm.
