Identity
The Rebel Yell Jazz Orchestra was started in 2014 with the aim of keeping the sensational music of the Clarke-Boland BIg Band ringing in people’s ears. RYJO has performed many times across the capital, often with guest players such as Mornington Lockett.
RYJO has a book that is probably unique in the big band world. It contains many Clarke-Boland arrangements, some of which have been transcribed specifically for us. We believe that we are the only big band that identifies so closely to that famous formation, and who performs their music with the frequency and dedication that we do.
