About

POP is not for profit multi-purpose cross generational creative space which opens 10am-3pm Monday-Friday and 12-2pm Saturday as does Cafe POP with their amazing vegan/veggie & some meat based dishes.
Our business model is somewhat unique, as all our events support a varied weekly timetable of activities for our diverse community both young & old.  POP also serves as a drop off point for local foodbanks/clothing/toys as well as offering micro-traders low cost display space for artisan goods. We are run entirely by volunteers.
POP is small – but perfectly formed relaxed and friendly place- intimate live music venue, showcasing original music, based in Hyde in the borough of Tameside in Greater Manchester. POP is a ‘one and only’ in the borough with the funkiest vibe outside of Manchester
POP’s venue club premises certification allows us to host U18 events – full stage monitoring allows young bands acclimatise to the feel of playing at larger venues.  We are also able to give local bands support slots for larger acts.  We work with Tameside Music School which showcase the emerging talent coming from the borough’s primary  and secondary schools.
Incepted in 2017 as a not for profit bar/café/live music venue, POP has become an acclaimed venue attracting bigger and bigger artists on and off our stage. We are a member of the Music Venue Trust and we were supported by them, both financially and ‘emotionally’ during the lockdowns
POP was the host venue for the 1st International digital pride 10 hours of live streaming which raised £52,000 for LGBTQIA organisations.  This was via the Stream GM an initiative formed during the lockdowns by Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, and Sacha Lord, the Night Time Economy Adviser for Greater Manchester.
