Novara Jazz Festival started in 2004, the Festival has always addressed the great jazz, musical improvisation, electronic musical experiments and overlapping the Arts. In 2015 Novara Jazz entertained over 10.000 people for a 3 weeks event full of great music: 10 main concerts, including 3 Italian premieres, 35 events exploring the most charming locations downtown and in the countryside, 12 Jazz Brunch with food and wine tasting, 5 dj sets after midnight, 5 jam session nights, 3 musical workshops in collaborations with Novara’s music schools, an international exhibition of visual and photographic arts and a cycling tour discovering the surrounding.
The outstanding characteristic of Novara Jazz is the fusion of different musical genres, attracting a wide audience from all over the country and, thanks to dj sets and musical workshops, the involvement of students and people of all age.
Since its first edition, Novara Jazz is supporting European jazz, inviting musicians from different European countries, fostering collaborations, residencies and network projects (i.e. Wayne Horvitz European Orchestra in 2014), facilitating young musicians projects and connecting with the most responsive stakeholders in the continental scene.
The attention to different styles, genres and languages – that is a main feature of Novara Jazz – open the program to as many projects and artistic trajectories through European jazz, both as a tool for the reinforcement of collective identities and as an incentive for top quality music production.
