Blues For Jean Charles De Menezes

Ffirst recorded at Nick Van Gelder Studio in North London on the day the tragic incident with Jean Charles Menezes took place and in the locality where Marcina lives Stockwell. Sadly Nick felt the song to be too political so Marcina decided to re-record the song and what a banger, with the addition of batucada a stunning Brasilian type outdo scat. With Jason Yarde on Saxes, Julian Ferratero on strings for a lush haunting intro and matching the scintillating keyboard solo of Nick Ramm, with Eric Appapoulay on Electric Bass ...... & Finn Peters on Flute. Marcina was able to give the family of JCM the EP when it was put onto the Counterpoint release. May justice prevail we still pray.... RIP Jean Charles
