The Love Supreme Jazz Festival is a 3 day greenfield jazz festival held in the first weekend of July in the stunning surroundings of Glynde Place in the iconic South Downs of East Sussex. We are widely regarded as one of the top jazz festivals in Europe.

Love Supreme is the first full weekend camping jazz festival in the UK but also welcomes day-trippers and weekend visitors. The festival is approximately 20 minutes from Brighton and just over an hour from central London by train or by car. Glynde village has a train station a few minutes walk from the site.

The festival launched in July 2013 and, since then, has hosted artists such as Herbie Hancock, Earth Wind & Fire, George Benson, Nile Rodgers, Van Morrison, Grace Jones, Jamie Cullum, Hugh Masekela, Steve Winwood, George Clinton, Pharaoh Sanders, Gregory Porter, Laura Mvula, Lianne La Havas, Bryan Ferry, Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, Esperanza Spalding, Melody Gardot, Brad Mehldau, Chaka Khan, Branford Marsalis, Robert Glasper, Snarky Puppy and many others.

The festival was the brainchild of former Universal record executive Ciro Romano: “The idea was to meld the ethos of those great European jazz festivals like North Sea Jazz and Montreux with the culture of the UK camping music festivals with very strong identities like Latitude or Green Man. I felt there was a gap in that environment for something which celebrated jazz, soul and funk and the mark it has on contemporary music and that there might be an audience out there who were not being served properly outside the main urban, indoor jazz festivals”. “It’s not just about jazz though, it’s about high-quality music throughout…”

Love Supreme has 4 stages: The Main Stage which hosts headliners and more contemporary artists with a mostly soul and funk lineage; The Big Top which hosts the cream of international and UK jazz artists; The Arena where you will find younger artists pushing the limits of what jazz, soul and funk is in the present day; The Bandstand which has the best jazz in East Sussex and Brighton hosted by the Verdict Jazz Club; and Bands & Voices which hosts cabaret, spoken word and late night live music.

DJs and club nights, talks and lectures, panels, classic album playbacks, films, dance classes, kids areas, VIP experiences, glamping, cabaret and spoken word, late night live jam sessions and a fairground… it’s an immersive musical weekend which has quickly built a loyal and dedicated following.
