It may be the smaller sibling of the Great Hall, but when it comes to music and live entertainment, the
Lemon Grove is a legend in its own right.
Holding a much smaller crowd of 800, the venue has an intimate, no frills feel to it, which makes it a popular place for smaller gigs, live theatre, spoken word and student performances.
Size definitely has no bearing on its reputation and the
Lemon Grove has always played an important part in the region’s music scene. Offering a diverse programme of events over the years, it has successfully attracted some big names, with the likes of Blur, Supergrass, Def Leppard and Muse all having stopped here on tour.
