About
Latest MusicBar is one of Brighton’s main live music venues.
Amongst the people who have performed here in the last few years are Amy Winehouse, The Kooks, Ben Howard, Rizzle Kicks, Jesca Hoop, Chris Difford (from Squeeze, pic below right), Newton Faulkner, Don Letts (pic above) and some jazz greats from Herbie Flowers (pic below left) and Larry Adler to Liane Carroll.
Established in 2004, The Catalyst Club is Brighton’s longest-running spoken word night and pays tribute to the old tradition of French salons. On the night three guest speakers take to the lectern to talk for fifteen minutes on a subject close to their heart. The Catalyst Club is open to anyone with a passion, no matter how bizarre or niche. Since its inception it has hosted over 700 talks that have ranged from zombie films, Marmite, the history of the Martini, the suffragettes and the Spartans to demonology, bum reading, moths and the wonderful world of slime mould.
