The Hen & Chicken Inn is a charming and historic Public House located on the busy A31 between Alton and Farnham.
The house was originally built in 1746 as a Chaise House where stage coaches on their way to London would rest whilst horses were changed and passengers refreshed. The first known Landlord was a gentleman called Mr. Rawson who saw that the inn became a popular gathering place for travelers and horse dealers. A picture can be found of him by the inglenook fireplace.
With much of the charm and character preserved, the house has since become a popular eatery for local guests and families and passers-by.
Laura & Kevin have been publicans at the Hen and Chicken since November 2004. They love welcoming customers into the pub and treating them as family.
