An Tobar
It is now home to artists, performers and audiences all year round. Hosting 50 yearly exhibitions, gigs and shows, this creative sanctuary both fosters and showcases arts of all movements and mediums.
A family of workshops, studios, recording rooms and performance spaces are home to artists of all veins, each with access to a creative space and the resources to develop and perform.
Mull Theatre
Our aim is to blaze a trail and motivate, to connect and engage with our audiences and inspire with our productions. With up to five Mull Theatre productions starting life here every year as well as welcoming a further 30 to 40 globally renowned companies we want to encourage engagement with the arts. We hold residencies throughout the year, attracting artists and performers of all backgrounds and disciplines.
Mull Theatre welcomes creative partnerships and provides support and facilities to rehearse and develop projects, to commission and create new work and combine strengths to tour widely.
Mull Theatre is also home to Mull Youth Theatre and Tidal Dance, both very active and important groups within the community, attracting members of all ages and backgrounds. MYT also runs an extensive outreach programme in schools and is a key player in making the arts and theatre accessible to local young people with the success of the three-year run of Show On The Road, which took theatre skills to primary schools, headed by Mull Youth Theatre Director Andi Stevens inspiring longer term activity.
An Tobar and Mull Theatre is a multi-artform creative hub on the Hebridean island of Mull. We are a place for joining in, with a welcoming and joyous heart. We tell stories that matter and we aspire to be an island voice on a national stage in an international conversation.
We support art of all kinds for people of all kinds. Our aim is for our audiences to leave feeling nourished, connected and understood. We value fun, openness, bravery and generosity and aim for innovation in a sustainable way.
The art we make is a beacon; a shining light guiding the way back to Mull.
