The International Bodrum Jazz Festival which set off with the slogan “Jazz would be great in Bodrum” and first took place in September 2017 has the feature to be the first and only coastal event in Turkey. The festival, being a whole with the peninsula, adapts to the unique structure of Bodrum and appeals to both residents and local and foreign tourists. By performing concerts in different venues and different concepts, the festival aims to keep jazz lovers pleased and also keep the local economy alive by extending Bodrum’s tourist season. In the International Bodrum Jazz Festival curated by Özlem Oktar Varoğlu, special projects and album concerts takes place as well as jazz artists who have contributed to Bodrum.
