Trish Clowes & Ross Stanley: The Music of Antonio Carlos Jobim & Wayne Shorter, Plus Special Guests @ World Heart Beat Embassy Gardens

Saxophonist Trish Clowes and pianist Ross Stanley have been carefully crafting their unique sound world over a number of years, performing their own material, arrangements of music from jazz, folk and church organ traditions, and free improvisations. The duo’s appearances include Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Royal Festival Hall (with Stanley making use of the organ), Galway Jazz Festival, Symphony Hall (Birmingham), Buxton International Festival, Manchester Jazz Festival, and St George’s Bristol. Two of the absolute masters we have in this country … so deeply devoted to their craft as improvisers. Jamie Cullum, BBC Radio 2 Following the release of their critically acclaimed album ‘Journey to Where’ (Stoney Lane Records, 2024), Clowes and Stanley present a celebration of two masters of composition, Wayne Shorter and Antonio Carlos Jobim. They will be joined by special guests, vocalist Immy Churchill and percussionist Andres Ticino, to perform repertoire from across Shorter and Jobim’s extensive catalogues. … Vital music full of swing, emotion and atmosphere … a deep understanding, a musical bond, a little bit of magic perhaps.
