The Grasshopper is extremely pleased to partner with local promoters SoundCellar in regularly presenting high quality live contemporary jazz, world music and much more, in our upstairs function room.  Events are generally held fortnightly on a Thursday evening, with occasional gigs held on other nights, and feature some of the finest UK and international musicians.

You’ll find a warm welcome at any time of day at The Grasshopper, a handsome pub that’s teeming with character. Enjoy a pint by a fireplace that’s crafted from vintage copper beer kettles, bring your family for a hearty Sunday Roast, or simply pop in for coffee and cake.

In the 19th century, The Grasshopper was known as The Half Way House Hotel because of its location between Poole and Bournemouth. Now, this pub is full of reclaimed treasures from the Victorian brewery that once stood here, alongside 21st century touches including an open kitchen and exposed brick walls.
