BAPAM

PERFORMING ARTS MEDICINE

This October, BAPAM is asking everyone to donate the price of a coffee or a pint so they can support masses of people.

Working in the performing arts is amazing for so many reasons, alongside the inspirational creativity within the profession are the wonderful people within it. The world of music really is a community.

Unfortunately, 75% of those working in the performing arts will experience career-impacting physical or mental health problems. When one’s career is self-employed, those times can be even more challenging, as the need to get back to work is urgent.

But how can people gain the best urgent support to access medical clinicians – in particular for those consultants to be experts in their field directly knowledgeable of musician related injuries?

BAPAM is a charity providing a vital range of specialist health care services for all performers (70% of whom are musicians). The organisation has 160 clinicians who have been approved by the BAPAM committee, because they have experience of treating performing artists and have an understanding of the unique context in which musicians work.

If you can spare the price of a coffee or a pint you could help BAPAM be there for everyone in the performing arts.

Let’s support this – DONATE HERE:

Why?

Because BAPAM is here when an illness or injury hits your bandmate, musical colleague, or favourite artist.

They are here when the person who you have a laugh with in rehearsals, as well as create incredible music with, can’t come to work because they are ill.

They are here to get them back to doing what they do best – creating the incredible music in our amazing arts scene that we all know is so important.

Whether you know someone recovering from an injury, someone who couldn’t tour because of an illness or someone who needed help with a vocal injury – you know that to stay healthy and work in this industry, you need the right support.

So, if you can, consider donating to BAPAM – every little bit helps!

It’s for all of us.
