CONDUCTING COURAGEOUS

CONVERSATIONS

 

 

The Musicians’ Union is creating an important FREE one-day workshop for musicians, run in conjunction with Guildhall Ignite. Focused on building skills and personal confidence in the workplace areas covered will include:

 

  • Active listening and understanding emotions
  • How to present in a way that will be received
  • Giving and receiving feedback
  • Influencing and negotiating
  • Conflict management

 

Participants will be working with their executive coaches to develop skills and learn to prepare for and engage constructively with others, as well as raise awareness of issues and work towards a set of agreed actions that allow positive change to take place.

 

The workshop will take place on October 2nd, 2025, so make sure to reserve your free spot.

Guildhall Ignite is running a one-day training workshop to help musicians build the confidence to lean into challenging conversations in the workplace, all while holding and maintaining a positive and healthy environment and upholding the integrity of the relationship.

 

ABOUT THE TRAINERS:

 

Jane Booth, Executive Coach, Head of Guildhall Ignite
Jane has trained as an Organisational and Relationship Systems Coach (ORSC), a Master Practitioner with the EMCC, ILM 7 Executive Coach, MBTI Certified and a Coach Trainer. The programme that she co-created for Guildhall Ignite, ‘Leaders On and Off Stage’ followed a 30-year career as principal clarinet with orchestras across Europe. Jane is especially fascinated by the areas of leadership and teams, working to create shifts and changes in organisational culture.

 

Trudy Wright, Executive Coach, Guildhall Ignite Associate
Trudy is a Certified Professional CoActive Coach, an ICF accredited coach at PCC level, and she’s trained as an Organisation and Relationship Systems Coach. She co-creates bespoke courses, such as Leaders on and off Stage, supporting orchestra principals and section players to build a positive and inspiring culture in which everyone can thrive, and Conducting Courageous Conversations to help senior leadership teams across the creative industries.
