Sohrab aka SoSaLa is a saxophonist, composer, band leader, label owner, publisher and a musician rights activist located in New York. As a leader he has performed and recorded in Europe (Switzerland, France, Germany), Japan, Hong Kong, Mali; and the US. He has played with legendary Salif Keita from Mali a couple of times. Legendary jazz man Ornette Coleman was his mentor and invited him to tour with him before his death. Jazz legends, such as Horace Silver, Don Cherry, Elvin Jones, Airto Moreira and Gato Barbieri called SoSaLa a friend. He produced
several independent releases and short films, publishes the music on-line mag DooBeeDooBeeDoo NY, and founded the musician rights organization Musicians For Musicians (MFM).
