About

Music is central to our life at St Andrew’s and St George’s West. It enriches our worship, and enhances the life of our community and city. There are many aspects of our music-making

St Andrew’s and St George’s West at Festival Time: Classical, jazz, world music or Scottish – whatever your taste there is something for you. We even have a Book Festival Fringe!

Our church is a beautiful building with an important architectural and historic heritage, placed in the centre of a historic and “well-set” city.

It combines a peaceful sanctuary space with lively and energetic activities. The church is open every day for prayers and a peaceful space. We have a lively welcome for children and well-developed pastoral care for our members and others in need of company and support.

There are three services on Sundays, the café is open on weekdays, and there is a huge range of activities.

We have a famous Christian Aid Sale every year, play host as a Fringe venue and have events including music, lectures, exhibitions, debates for schools and a Christmas Tree Festival involving local businesses and charities.

Other activities include study and social groups, an ecumenical partnership and inter-faith links, crafts and recycling and campaigning on issues affecting the world.

In addition the building is available for let to outside bodies for concerts, conferences, meetings and celebrations.
