Introducing Eliza Oakes to our ConnectsMusic audience. She releases her video collaboration with colleague Hugo Piper.
Eliza Oakes is a vocalist, composer and arranger born and raised in South-East London. Combining a wide range of influences along with the eclectic sounds of the city she grew up in, she delivers her own sound with grit, soul and authenticity.
Eliza’s vocal strength, versatility and range has been nurtured through singing in choirs, from church to performances in clubs and venues throughout London and the UK. This emersion within multiple harmonising voices across different genres and ages, shaped and honed her voice. She is a member of the gospel, soul, pop choir the Mike King Collective (MKC), and she is a leading vocalist with Capital Orchestra, the multi-genre 82-piece collaboration of emerging London musicians.
Through her own compositions, production and lyrics, truth and originality are front and centre of her purposeful claim to her own sonic identity, whilst honouring the rock, folk, soul and pop vocalists that she grew up on.
