Trumpet player, piano player and music graduate from the University of Southampton, who lived in Vietnam for a year as a Primary Music Graduate Assistant at British International School Ho Chi Minh City. Here, she taught music across all age groups in primary and secondary school, specialising in teaching EYFS music.
Deeply interested in music from other cultures, Lettie plays with Mariachi Las Adelitas – an all-female Mariachi band! Thriving in an all female environment, she loves the resilience that Adelita women symbolise and she enjoys the variety in performances: playing in schools for World Culture Day, to playing Salma Hayek’s birthday at 5 Hertford Street. They have played at many members’ clubs such as Annabel’s, The Landsdowne Club and Soho House.
With Tomorrow’s Warriors Female Frontline, she has played at venues such as Pizza Express Jazz Club, Cadogan Hall (supporting Monty Alexander) and headlining The Jazz Cafe with guest players, Dennis Rollins and James Morton. They have played at festivals such as Love Supreme, Ealing Jazz Festival and We Out Here, where Lettie also played with singer/songwriter Jelly Cleaver (guitarist of Female Frontline). Ongoing musical projects are blossoming from the branches formed by the group, one of which is the All Day Breakfast Cafe, another all-female band! These women performed at the launch party of EFG London Jazz Festival this year.
