London based saxophonist Fraser Smith brings you a night of blues drenched, straight-ahead jazz. His music is firmly rooted in the traditions of swing and bebop, ‘Smith wallows in that funky Gene Ammons/Ike Quebec sound’ – Bebop Spoken Here.
Fraser has played across the world and is a regular in some of London’s leading clubs. He has brought his own band to Ronnie Scott’s on numerous occassions and is now signed to the esteemed Uk jazz label Ubuntu Music, with whom he’ll be releasing his latest album TipTop! later this year. A working musican, Fraser has cut his teeth and paid his dues on the London scene over the last decade and a half.
Following years of studying Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Louis Prima and many of history’s greatest jazz singers, Fraser decided to bring vocals to his live shows in 2019. He studied with some of the best in the business, Clare Martin OBE, Sara Dowling, Georgia Cecile and Louise Messenger.
This evening expect a night of music steeped in swing and jazz. A saxophonist at the top of his game, with bluesy vocals to ease you into it. With him will be his band of all-stars, the cream of the young London Jazz scene.
