Brought by Sian Kelly and Kat Abel, an evening of music amongst a tight knit group of friends and collaborators, sharing music from their demos catalogue; songs inspired by their heritage, and performing and talking about songs which never make the cut of an album. This is a showcase of a songwriter’s journey and the songs which become stepping stones for an artist’s transformation.
“I love the idea of giving a platform for the songs we write which will never get heard on the record. As songwriters we can pour almost years of time and thought into specific songs, that end up getting left aside as our sound changes and develops. Perhaps it’s the mini aspiring Joni Mitchell inside me that wants to connect the two mediums of music that I create in, but I think it’s easy in this industry to be caged into a bank of sound of which people expect you to make music.” (Sian Kelly)
