The Hempolics are a close-knit, family-like group of best friends who have come together to form a unique reggae, dub, soul, and hip hop fusion.
Known for a genre-jumping yet cohesive sound, The Hempolics celebrate love, connection, and social commentary. Infectious rhythms, rich harmonies, and emotive lyrics create a fresh, rootsy sound with catchy melodies and socially conscious lyrics, fronted by producer Grippa Laybourne and vocalists Nubiya and Dandelion.

Launched in 2007, 229 is a multi-purpose entertainments venue which has played host many gigs, club nights, awards ceremonies, comedy and fashion events, gala dinners and weekend festivals.Managed under the umbrella of the charity, International Students House (ISH), 100% of the profit made by 229 goes directly back support our mission.We believe every young person should have the opportunity to succeed whatever their background. Together with our university partners and supporters, we provide scholarships opportunities, a home and a social programme to enable students to succeed while giving them a place to belong.
