Jascha Bingham Trio @ Matt & Phred’s
Having won the Bucharest International Jazz Competition 2024 as well as being active on the Leeds jazz scene, the Jascha Bingham Trio aims to reconceptualise and explore jazz standards and originals through a creative and emotional improvisational process. Within performances, the trio continuously focuses on exploring new improvisational pathways and emphasizing emotional expression through nuance, sensitivity and musical communication. Jascha Bingham leads the trio on piano with Sean Blake on double bass and Adam Scott on drums, taking large inspiration from the format of the Keith Jarrett trio as well as incorperating stylistic elements from Brad Mehldau and Bill Evans. Tonight, the trio will continue to explore what is possible through the exploration of jazz standards and hope to find and express something new through this process. Playing numbers such as Nardis, The Peacocks, On Green Dolphin Street and Solar, the trio will aim to express a range of different musical colours and through improviisation, produce a unique performance that it will never be able to replicate. Plus, it’s HAPPY HOUR 6-11PM – that means buy 2 drinks and get a whole FREE PIZZA or get 2 house cocktails for just £14!
