About the event Carolina Lelis is a singer, songwriter and actress from Brazil. She grew up in São Paulo in a family of musicians and spent most of her early life travelling around the country with her parents’ gospel band. Later on she moved to New York to study Acting at the Stella Adler Studio. There she discovered a passion for performing and Jazz. She sang at the iconic ‘The Plaza’. After 4 years in the ‘Big Apple’ Lelis went back to Brazil to reconnect with her roots and family. She began writing and was encouraged by her now husband and bass player Julio de Castro to record her music. Her first solo work is a concert show titled ‘Live’ featuring some of the best Jazz musicians from the São Paulo scene.
