“Aaron Liddard’s music is beautiful” – Flora Purim
London-based saxophonist and composer Aaron Liddard has worked in the bands of Amy Winehouse, Beverley Knight, Bob Geldof and for Prince’s now-legendary 21 days at the 02 Arena. His music encompasses jazz, funk and world music.
The album features over 40 musicians from Cuba, Brazil, the Caribbean, USA, and the UK including Carleen Anderson, Omar Puente, and Miss Baby Sol.
Aaron has recently been touring the world. 26 countries including Brazil, Canada & USA in 2018 and 19 countries in 2019. Aaron’s band, the Argonauts have played around London, northern UK & Central Europe and elsewhere. They’ve played the Hoochie Coochie in newcastle, Pizza Express soho, and various small clubs in Switzerland. In 2018 Aaron toured Brazil with The Brazilian Argonauts, culminating with a headline show at nhundiaquara jazz festival playing opposite Airto Moreira. In 2019 Aaron played with the Bombay Argonauts in Mumbai and featured New York-based Indian flautist Jay Ghandi. Since lockdown Aaron has arranged and recorded horns for two full albums by grammy nominated artists: Jonny Rawls and Sugaray Rayford. He has also recorded for Walter Trout, Ray Estaire, a New York-based gospel group, and various other international projects. Aaron was also a highly regarded band leader in Manchester before moving to London. His band headlined the Manchester jazz festival in 2000.
