Good Grief is a four-piece instrumental group hailing from Manchester, consisting of Jerome on sax and flute, Jack on drums, Andrian on guitar, and Dan on bass. Their live performances are known to be full of warmth and imagination, with each show being unique due to their blend of solid beats with improvisation. The group was formed in 2016 and draws inspiration from a diverse range of artists such as Tom Misch, Thundercat, and Anderson .Paak, to name a few. Good Grief’s music genre can be described as a fusion of neo-soul, jazz, and hip-hop, as they weave together hard-hitting beats with intricately woven guitar and sax textures. After years of honing their craft, Good Grief is gearing up for a big year of gigs in 2023. Their sound has been likened to other popular instrumental groups such as Nubiyan Twist, Ezra Collective, and BadBadNotGood.
